  • Measurement of progress

    A checklist system is used by DPT to help the school measure their achievements against this framework and a certificate will be awarded for the year period indicating what level of attainment the school has reached.

    A copy of the checklist currently used by the DPT in the schools it provides service in is available here. It should be noted that this checklist is intended as a tool to help guide future improvements and record changes made and will change over time as practical experience suggests improvements. NOTE: It is understood that ERO will be using their own measurement tool to monitor implementation of the F&BCS and while our checklist also uses the F&BCS, we take a broader, holistic approach, and interpretation may vary in some details.

    Other measurements which have been found to be helpful include:

    l Monitoring sales/money accurately, possibly using change to the Tuckshop as an opportunity to install new systems such as tills which allow analysis of what is actually being sold.
    l Where policies around the Tuckshop are in place, regular monitoring of how and whether they are applied as intended, for example internal audit against a policy
    l Surveys of students, teachers, operators, suppliers
